Cemeteries
St. Mathias Township is home to three local cemeteries: Pine Grove Cemetery, Riverside Cemetery, and St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery. Pine Grove Cemetery is a historic, non-denominational cemetery that has served township residents for generations. Riverside Cemetery offers a peaceful riverside setting for burials and memorials. St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery, affiliated with the local parish, provides a sacred resting place for members of the Catholic community. Together, these cemeteries reflect the township’s history and dedication to honoring its residents.
Pine Grove Cemetery
Pine Grove Cemetery is a small, rural cemetery in St. Mathias township used mainly by the original inhabitants of Gorstville, which no longer exists. The cemetery, now inactive, is maintained under an initiative of the township board to preserve the history of the township. It is at the western dead end of 10th street (a gravel road) in southern Crow Wing county.

River Side Cemetery
Riverside Cemetery is a historic community burial ground located in St. Mathias Township, established in 1889 and serving local families for more than a century. It remains an active cemetery, offering a peaceful final resting place and continuing to provide burial space for township residents. The cemetery maintains a searchable record of interments and provides contact information for those seeking plots or researching family history.
St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery
St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery is a historic parish cemetery serving the Catholic families of St. Mathias Township. Located adjacent to the church, it provides a peaceful and sacred resting place, reflecting the faith and traditions of the local community. The cemetery continues to welcome new interments and is carefully maintained by the parish to honor those who have called the township home for generations.
